What sets illy apart is a patented pressurization process that locks in freshness from the moment of roasting, 100% sustainably sourced Arabica beans drawn from nine origins across four continents, and a direct-trade model that pays growers premium prices. But beyond the coffee itself, illy has always understood that what's in the cup is only part of the story. This is a brand where science, art, and Italian craftsmanship converge into something far greater than a morning ritual.
Translating a world-class brand identity onto Amazon is no small task. Premium positioning is fragile on a marketplace built for price comparison, where illy sits shoulder to shoulder with mass-market competitors holding more than three times its market share. The challenge was to communicate nearly a century of Italian heritage and uncompromising quality within the constraints of a product listing and a few seconds of a shopper's attention. Every visual asset and line of copy had to stop the scroll, earn trust, and justify the premium before a customer ever opened the can.
The scope of this project focused on a full creative overhaul of illy's Amazon presence through the product image stack and A+ content modules. The goal was to close the gap between the elevated brand experience customers encounter in luxury hotels and specialty cafés, and what they were finding on Amazon.
The product image stack was reimagined to lead with brand story before product detail. Lifestyle imagery, origin storytelling, and bold typographic callouts worked together to build desire and brand trust at the point of consideration.
The A+ content was developed to convert that desire into purchase. Rich visual design paired with concise, benefit-driven copy guided shoppers through illy's sustainability credentials, brewing versatility, and signature nine-origin Arabica blend.
Together, both deliverables formed a cohesive premium experience built to reflect the true stature of the illy brand, reduce purchase hesitation, and drive sales growth.

The flagship X7.1 by Italian architect Luca Trazzi is as much a countertop statement piece as a precision brewing tool, using illy's patented iperEspresso system to produce a rich, velvety espresso with thick, long-lasting crema. Positioning the machines alongside illy's coffee offerings on Amazon allowed the creative work to tell a complete story, transforming a single product purchase into an invitation to own the full illy experience.
